Pip: Clocks, Coins & Rulers
In short
Pip: Clocks, Coins & Rulers is a learning game for children ages 6 to 8 (grades 1–2), made by Kidz Tales OÜ. It asks for nothing about your child, and we receive no data from it. The app asks for no name or email. If you type your child’s first name for a certificate, it stays on this device and is never sent anywhere. You can remove the name at any time by clearing the field. It never asks to use the camera, microphone, location, contacts, or photos. There are no ads and no accounts, and we added no analytics or tracking tools. The one outside part is Google Play’s purchase library, described below.
The only connection outside the app: Google Play’s purchase library
The app asks Google Play only about the full game. When the app starts, it connects to Google Play’s purchase service on the device, so a purchase that finished while the app was closed isn’t lost. When a purchase screen opens, it asks Google Play for the price. When someone taps Unlock (after the parent gate) or Restore purchase, it buys or restores the full game. Google Play may go online for this. The app tells it only which product is meant, and nothing about your child.
Google’s purchase library (Google Play Billing), which is built into the app, also sends Google technical information on its own, including the device’s model, maker, and hardware, its Android version and build, the language, region, and time zone set on it, the type of network and the mobile carrier code, the app’s name and version, a random number that changes each time the library starts, and whether each step of the purchase service worked. It can send this whenever the app connects to Google Play, which happens at every start, even if no one buys anything. It sends it over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. Like any internet connection, this also shows Google the device’s internet (IP) address. It does not send the device’s advertising ID or its location. This goes straight to Google; we never receive it.
Your child’s progress, answers, daily schedule, and settings stay on this device. The only copy that can leave it is your phone’s own backup, if you use one. We never see this data.
Payment details, such as your card, address, and receipt, are handled by Google Play under Google’s privacy policy. We never see or keep them.
The game works without the internet. The purchase is remembered on the device, so the app works fully in airplane mode.
What is stored, and where
On the device itself, the app remembers your child’s progress: finished lessons, stars, right answers and mistakes by lesson, time spent in lessons, the stickers earned, what Pip wears, and the dates certificates were earned. It also keeps the settings a grown-up chooses, including when Pip naps, and how many lessons and minutes the current play session has had. If a grown-up sets them, it keeps the daily schedule (times for school, lunch, and bedtime) and your child’s first name for a certificate. It also notes small things that keep the game from repeating itself, such as whether a grown-up has seen the welcome page and which lesson was tried for free.
This data stays on the device until you erase it. The app sends it nowhere, and we never see it. It is deleted with the app, unless your phone’s backup restores it. The parents’ area also has a button that erases the progress right away.
We keep no data, so there is nothing for us to store or delete on our side. How long Google keeps the technical information its purchase library sends is set by Google, not by us.
Children
The app is made for children ages 6 to 8 (grades 1–2). There is no way to leave the app for a website or another app, and no one can contact a child through it. We collect no personal information from children. The only information that leaves the device is the technical information Google’s purchase library sends, described above.
There are no ads of any kind. Purchases are behind a parent gate. There are no buttons that lead to other apps, to social networks, or to the web.
Sound and microphone
Pip speaks but doesn’t listen. The voice is sentences recorded in advance and stored inside the app. The microphone is not used, and the app doesn’t ask for it.
Third parties
We added no tracking, analytics, or advertising tools: no Google Analytics and no ad networks. The only outside part is Google Play Billing, Google’s purchase library, which Google Play requires for selling digital content inside apps. The app tells it nothing about your child. The only data that leaves the app is the technical information this library sends straight to Google, described above. We sell no data, and we receive none to pass on.
Your rights
Because we receive no data from the app, we hold none to ask for, correct, or delete, so there is nothing to request from us. Everything the app remembers stays on the device, or in your phone’s own backup if you use one, under your control: the button in the parents’ area erases the progress, and uninstalling the app erases the rest from the device. Questions about the technical information Google’s purchase library sends go to Google, under Google’s privacy policy. You can write to us with any question (see Contact).
If you write to us
If you email us, we use your address and message only to answer you. We add no one to a mailing list, we keep an email only as long as we need it to help you, and we delete it whenever you ask. Our mailbox is protected by two-step verification.
Families in the EU and the UK

The technical information Google’s purchase library sends is Google’s responsibility, under Google’s privacy policy.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the new version will appear here and on its web page, with a new date at the top. If we ever change what the app collects or sends, this policy will say so before the change reaches the app.
